Very Interesing: Prophet Idrees Alahis Salaam.

I was reading a book yesterday and learnt some very interesting facts about the Prophet Idris Alahis Salam, somethings which I had not known before.

Well he was the third Prophet of Islam after Adam and Seth (A.S.). But more interestingly:

  • Hazrat Idrees (alaihis-salaam) was the first person to write with the pen, thus becoming the inventor of writing in this world.
  • He was also the first to manufacture weapons, and with the same weapons he waged jihad against the children of Qaabeel. After the death of Qaabeel, the generations that came after him had rejected Allah and His Prophets. So Hazrat Idrees waged war against them, for they had now become the enemies of Allah.
  • Hazrat Idrees (alaihis-salaam) was granted by Allah knowledge of astronomy and arithmetic, and he taught this to people.
  • He also invented the art of sewing clothes, at a time when people used the skins of animals to cover their bodies. Hazrat Idrees taught people how to sew clothing.
  • Another practice introduced by him into the world was the method of measuring and weighing.

All this knowledge came to him through Wahi (revelation) from Allah.

Also Idrees Alaihis salaam too was raised to the heavens and given the knowledge of the unseen. Both Christians and muslims agree upon this. The Quranic ayah which refers to this is fact is

Verily! He was a man of truth (and) a prophet. We raised him to a high station.
Surah 19:56-57

An interesting story which I read  relating to him  (alahis salam) is that when he was raised to the heavens he asked the Angel of death to give him a taste of death i.e to take his soul out and put it back so he would know what it would feel like as “Every soul shall taste of death”. So the Angel of death took his soul and then put it back for him.

Then he asked the angels to show him the fire of hell as every person would pass over it (see it) so he was shown the hell. Then he asked to be taken to heaven (jannah) so the angels took him to Jannah. Once he was in Jannah he said that after a person enters Jannah he will not be taken out again so he wished to stay there and Allah allowed this. Thus the writer said the Prophet Idrees Alaihis salaam is actually alive in the heavens and indeed the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasalam met  him on the  4th Heaven on the Night of Meraj (asencion)

Wallahu Alamu Bis sawaab

Some Of His Sayings:

“Happy is he who looks at his own deeds and appoints them as pleaders to his Lord.”

“None can show better gratitude for Allah’s favors than he who shares them with others.”

“Do not envy people for what they have as they will only enjoy it for a short while.”

“He who indulges in excess will not benefit from it.”

“The real joy of life is to have wisdom.”

  1. Utter nonsense.

The first systems of writing were used by the Sumerian’s in about 3000 BC. The Ancient Greeks and Romans wrote, too, far before the time of the prophet you cite.

Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans were all able to produce fine using various techniques including sewing clothing thousands of years before that man.

He was not the first to manufacture weapons, either. Stone-Age man had those, and by the time of the ancient Akkadians, Egyptians, Persians, Greeks and Romans (to name a few), weaponry was quite advanced. All had weapons more than 1000 years before your man.

Astronomy was also utilized far before his time. The ancient Egyptians and Mayans are prime examples of civilizations with advanced knowledge of the sun, moon and stars.

Again, with weights and measures, many ancient civilisations used these thousands of years before Prophet Idris Alahis Salam.

It wasn’t known before because it’s not true and somebody recently just re-wrote history.

      • Sohail Khalid your name sounds Islamic, but I doubt it very much from the way you are addressing a prophet of God whether he is a christian prophet or may it be any religion you do not address them saying man…

If at all you are a muslim and have any faith in the Holy Quran… Allah himself is the witness to the above things posted and it is accurate..but if you aren’t a muslim then I understand your IGNORANCE…and can only say you are a wolf in sheep skin!

    To bingbing
Can you possibly be this ignorant about history? Do you actually believe your utter nonsense and fabrications that the Sumerians in merely 3000 BC came before the Prophet Idris? What a troll you are. No. The problem is that you are blinded by your hatred of what you know nothing about, revelation from the true and only God. You hate Islam, in your deeply bigoted cultural chauvinism, and this has prevented you from sincere study in search of truth and guidance. This, by the way, is the great sin that God chides the first opponents of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, for, and for which there can be no correction until one alters his heart to humbly seek truth, not defend accidents of ancestry and geography; the sin being that one rejects the revelation of God without even considering it. You are clearly in this category. So tell me, what is the difference between you and cattle who go mindlessly through the earth filling their bellies? i will tell you the difference. You are more astray, for the cattle at least remain upon the nature God created them with. But you, you have perverted your soul out of nothing but baseless arrogance, you and Mr. Board. Why should you be afraid of actually engaging yourself in a study of the Quran and the Prophet, your Prophet, whom you are yet responsible to follow? Why fear divine guidance? This is the true nonsense and rewriting of history. Yet you will not rewrite the Book of Deeds that hangs even now around your necks and by which you shall surely be judged when you stand alone before God in the Hereafter, bereft of your manufactured idols and all your maddened media supporters and fuming friends, Hellfire drawn near, roaring for your presence. This is real. Yet you still have time. So use it. At least get a history book so you don’t embarrass yourself. A grandson of Adam must have come tens of thousands of years at least, possibly hundreds, before the Sumerians. Will you not, then, understand?

Hazrat Idrees (A.S) was the grandson of Hazrat Adam (A.S) and this is true that he introduced and invented so many gadets at that time by the will of Allah through Wahi (revealation. Hazrat Idress (A.S) got the age of 82 years and he came one thousand years before Hazrat Nooh (A.S).
