I was thinking just now how we react to negative behavious towards us, If someone says something bad to us usually we give them back something verbally or if someone gives is a dirty look we usually give them a stare back. And so on. How oftern in times where we are tested we react in the wrong way. Anger usually takes control, adrenalin flows and negativism comes out of us This despite of us pretending throughout the day to be the holiest people in the world. We dedeive ourselves.
I listened to a talk once where the talker said a true beleiver who has good charcter if hes punched by someone he will ask the person if hes ok and that his hands is not hurting is it? That is more than just forgiving and turning away. But I guess we are weak and our egos still need a lot of training.
A few hadths:
“The Beleivers whose faith is most perfect ae those who have the best character.”
The best thing a human being could be given is good character.
Gods Messenger used to supplicate (pbuh) ” O Allah thou hast made my form beautiful so make my charcter beautiful.”
“Do not be peoples without minds of your own saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well and that if they do wrong to you you will do wrong. BUT accustom yourselves to do good of people to good and to not do wrong if they do evil.”
“He who strives on behalf of a widow and a poor person is like one who strives in Gods Path.”
“…and do good (to others); surely Allah loves the doers of good”. (2:195).
Is there any Reward for Good – other than Good?” (55:60),
“For those who do good is good (reward) and more (than this)” (10:26)….
